(Port Aransas, TX)  The Port Aransas Tourism Bureau and Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a Shred Day event Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for all area Port Aransas businesses and residents.  The event will take place at 710 E. Avenue A in the Port Aransas Civic Center Parking Lot (near Cut-Off Road).  This service is provided FREE of charge to participants and is co-sponsored by the Port Aransas Tourism Bureau/Chamber of Commerce and Bryan Richter Farmers Insurance and Silver Sands Vacation Rentals.

In an effort to be more contactless during this pandemic, this will be a drive-thru event.  Patrons can drive up, open their trunk and the team will take care of the shredding.  Staples, paper clips, paper & manila folder types of paper material are all able to be shredded.  Non-paper materials such as metals, x-rays, batteries or plastics may not be shredded.  In addition, binders with metal in them and binder clips are not allowed.  Cardboard boxes are also not allowed.

“The Port Aransas Tourism Bureau and Chamber of Commerce wanted to offer a second shred event to support our communities and businesses during this pandemic,” said Brett Stawar, President & CEO of the Port Aransas Tourism Bureau and Chamber of Commerce.  “We are very pleased that two local businesses have helped enable this event with their sponsorship, Bryan Richter Farmers Insurance and Silver Sands Vacation Rentals.  This is a great time of year to prepare for the holiday season and year end.”
