The Port Aransas Tourism Bureau and Chamber of Commerce invites boat owners to LIGHT UP PORT A and join in the annual Lighted Boat Parade! Boat owners are encouraged to decorate and light up their boats and join in this fun competition. Boats will be judged in three vessel categories: Commercial Vessel; Small Private Vessel – 30 feet or less; Large Private Vessel – 31 feet or greater. 
 
A mandatory Captain’s Meeting will be held at the Harbor Master Office at 5:30. Contestants will be given a placard with their entry number that must be placed in a visible place on vessel.
 
Boat Parade will begin at approximately 6:00. Parade route will be inside the City Harbor – from the loading ramps, circling through the harbor, turn around by coast guard station, winding through to the bulkhead area by the park pavilion, and back to loading ramps. The parade will last approximately 45 minutes.
 
Judges will determine the winners based on decorations, light show, originality and crew participation. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place in each category at the Robert’s Point Park pavilion around 7:30.
 
Spectators are encouraged to watch from the pavilion bulkhead or along the dock walkways or at the local bars and restaurants along the marina. Of course, social distancing and mask-wearing is required according to CDC guidelines and local restrictions in place during the event.
 
No food or beverages will be served so guests are encouraged to plan accordingly.
